We’re so glad you’ve decided to work toward a better emotional state and a happier future for all. Since we know that our system of submission is a little complex, here’s a step-by-step process of how to submit your work.
1) Collect the list of information mentioned in the drop-down field below.
Please note that you will be submitting this info to us in the art submission form, along with a public link to a Google Drive upload of your chosen form of media.
Information you’ll need to submit:
- Name
- Pronouns (or prefer not to say)
- School – decide whether you want publicized
- School’s Volunteer Log/Community Service Hours form (we need to write summaries of your work and sign for your school to accept your hours; every school should have their own form)
- Age Range – decide whether you want publicized
- Do you want to be anonymous or have your work accredited to you? If you are anonymous, rest assured that no one else will claim credit for your art; it will be listed as anonymous on our website. We still need your information to give you community service hours, even if you want to be anonymous.
2) Take a look at the prompts on the blog page and pick one that resonates with you.
Start brainstorming what you might create! Don’t put limits on yourself, but don’t push yourself too hard; remember, by making art, you’re actively choosing to work toward a better mental state. No need to stress!
3) Once you’ve made your art, in any medium of your choice, please write a brief (50-75 words) explanation.
This is necessary so we can objectively decide whether you are eligible to receive service hours. Please describe your inspiration, process of creation, and/or what you want the art to depict or express. (This may sound intimidating, but it’s just a formality. We refuse as few submissions as possible; only those that are not well-thought-out or inappropriate will be rejected. We institute this system so we can justify giving out volunteer hours.)
4) Submit your information, along with a public Google Drive link to your media and your school’s method of administering service hours to this form.
Since every school accepts service hours differently, we need to know how we can get you your service hours.
- If your school uses a form, please attach the form via a public Google Drive link in the submission form.
- If your school uses a website, please link it in the submission form.
- If your school uses a different method, please include a short description and how we can get you your service hours in the final box of the submission form.
Please note that you will not receive your service hours upon submission; we’ll do our best to get you the service hours ASAP.
